Local install (development)

Self-hosted buyers only: This page explains how to run the purchased Calbok package locally. Hosted Calbok customers do not need these steps. Visit the hosted Calbok site instead.

You can install the CodeCanyon package on a local web server without Composer, Node, or terminal migration commands.

OS Suggested stack
macOS Laravel Herd or MAMP — PHP 8.3+, MySQL 8 or Postgres
Windows Laragon or XAMPP — PHP 8.3+
Linux Native PHP 8.3-FPM + MySQL or Postgres

Install the buyer package

  1. Extract the release ZIP into its own application folder. Set the local web server's document root to that folder's public/ directory.
  2. Create an empty MySQL or PostgreSQL database and a user with privileges on it.
  3. Visit your local URL followed by /install, for example http://localhost/install or http://calbok.test/install. Enter the database details and site URL. The wizard creates the application key, runs migrations, and asks you to create the Operator account.
  4. Finish the wizard. The installer then blocks /install and shows the cron command for scheduled work.

The release ZIP already includes vendor/ and built assets. You do not need to copy .env.example, generate a key, or run migrations yourself.

Develop from source

For a Git checkout, install Composer and npm dependencies, then use /install as above or set up a development .env and run the Laravel commands yourself. Development-only credentials in the repository README.md do not apply to a buyer installation.

The Operator panel is at /admin. Use the email and password you entered in the wizard.
